How do I edit the images on the site and where the heck are they?
Depending of the page the images are stored in different locations.
Here is an easy way to get to them and edit them, then upload them back to the site.
This will cause the image to open all alone in a new window.
While we can just right click and save the image from here, we need to know it's name, so....
Now go to the image and edit with your favorite editing program and save.
We want to put the image back up on the server in the same place so it replaces the original image. For that there is a built in Media Manager in Joomla.
